Wild Blue Weddings Rebrand
Overview:
Wild Blue Weddings is a wedding stationery brand that I created in 2017. In the beginning, my priority was getting the product to market and serving my customers. I took the “done is better than perfect” approach with the branding for the first year, creating a simple, text-only, handwritten logo:

The Challenge:
As I began to scale the business, I knew it was time to upgrade the look and feel of the brand to something more professional and classy. I wanted to attract customers with bigger budgets who could invest in larger stationery packages. I also wanted to attract media attention and collaborations with high-end wedding destination vendors.
The Process:
I surveyed all of my past customers and also interviewed a select group who I felt were my ideal clients. I asked questions about their demographics, values, and interests; as well as details about their wedding planning journey, such as wedding size, timeline, budget, destination, etc. I was even able to view photos of some of their weddings to get a true feel for their styles and personalities.
After identifying common themes and stories, I created an ideal customer avatar to help guide the rebrand process.
Skills:
- User Research
- Logo Design
- Brand/Identity Design
Tools:
- Illustrator
- InDesign
- Photoshop
The Result:
Since about 65% of my customers had mountain-themed weddings, and about 20% had beach-themed weddings, the final logo incorporates both mountain and water elements. The couple silhouette evokes elegance since they are wearing formal attire, while the font combination communicates sophistication yet playfulness. The overall feel of the brand was elevated through fonts, imagery, and a more defined and consistent color palette.
Within one year of the rebrand, business revenue tripled. I sold Wild Blue Weddings in February of 2020 so that I could focus on other projects.
